When we go to a party of an event, we want to look and feel our best.  Being obsessed with how we look to others is considered natural.  A key step in this process is to have taken a good bath or a shower.  The personal hygiene refreshes us and cleans us at a physical level.  There are even indirect feeling-good benefits.  However, how do we take a mind-bath to make our minds clutter free and clean?

The concept of mind bath is very well known in Eastern traditions.  Mind bathing means to clean our minds of negative thinking, useless chatter and prejudices.  Physical bathing is much easier because it is something we can do and see the results immediately. Mind bathing takes a lot of practice at paying attention to the thought patterns and carefully replacing the negative thoughts with the positive thoughts.  We go through life experiences at such a rapid pace that we do not allow our minds a chance to cleanse itself.

There are immense benefits if we learn the techniques to bathe our minds regularly.  How we present ourselves to the world and to our own self makes all the difference to our performance.  The following levels of our personality reflect a healthy glow after taking a good mind bath:

  • Physical tension and stress are reduced or eliminated
  • Ability to be genuinely sociable is increased
  • Spring of positive energy is available to achieve goals

The flip side of not cleansing the mind results in an accumulation of useless clutter.  This is a natural state of progression if we do not give any mind to our minds!  There is a lot to lose if we find ourselves in a dreadful state such as:

  • Feeling of unease at physical and/or mental level
  • Affecting important relationships in our lives
